Multi-Sport Approach to Summer Camps

Gareth Dowdell - Friday, February 24, 2017

Canadian Tennis is in a true renaissance period. Milos Raonic is number 4 in the world, Eugenie Bouchard is a household name, and two juniors won grand slam events in 2016. The coaching structures are in place to both increase participation nationwide, and produce champions. The Daniel Nestor Tennis Centre is proud to lead the charge in Atlantic Canada to facilitate this national goal.

Beginning in 2017, DNTC will implement a multi-sport approach to our camps. In each three hour session, campers will play tennis for two hours, and another sport for one hour. Our teaching strategy is established by Tennis Canada and other international methods to create a fun and active way of learning. Juniors start by using smaller racquets, softer tennis balls and smaller courts. Summer Tennis Camps at the DNTC are all about fun, learning the game of tennis, and improving fitness and coordination by participating in various other sports: Soccer, Tennis Baseball, Ultimate Frisbee, Capture the Flag, etc.

Our certified instructors have a true passion for both the sport and for teaching young players. Fundamentals of the game can be picked up very quickly when introduced in our friendly and safe environment. We have 11 weeks of camps throughout the summer from June 19 to September 1. Register by calling our welcome desk at 902 423 3682. See you on the courts!
