CLUB SERVICES & PROGRAMS

Round Robins, Ladders and Leagues
The Daniel Nestor Tennis Centre is about getting you out there to play so we have developed numerous programs that match you with other players and give you the opportunity to meet others. Round Robins and Ladders are available during weekly programming, check back for details. We will have catagories for all skill levels. If you have a program you would like to see instituted please contact our manager at manager@DNTC.ca

Adult Lessons
Learn from the best instructors this area has to offer. Group, private or semi-private sessions available.

DAVIS CUP LEAGUE
This league is geared toward young players and matches them to other young players at clubs in Halifax and the surrounding area. Ages 8 - 18 are invited with a commitment of 8 weeks and matches being played after school during the week. A great way to learn about tennis, compete at numerous levels and make new friends. Uniforms supplied. Final tournament at DNTC. Fees apply.

Want to know your listing as a player? Are you a 3.0 player or a 5.0? Do you have the potential to improve? Hitting with our pro will allow our staff to not only catagorize your play level, give you a few hints to improve and then will also direct you to players within the club of equal abilities to play with.

Junior Tennis/Head Start Program
All levels and a variety of times to suite your needs. The DNTC is family driven and we want everyone to enjoy the game. Our LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM offers tennis lessons to get things going for those who have never picked up a racquet. Our programming ranges from high level Teir 1 training to just learning and enjoying the lifelong game of tennis.

After School Program
The Daniel Nestor Tennis Centre is dedicated to providing opportunities for youth in education. Our after school program will keep kids active and focused on their studies, all at the same time.

Rising Star Tennis Event - with Daniel Nestor
The Daniel Nestor Tennis Centre has something that no other tennis centre has in Canada, or the world. We have Daniel Nestor. Each year Daniel will run a program for kids that register in advance. The week long event includes tourna-ments, workshops, lessons, and more. Details to come.

Double Trouble
Daniel is one of the best doubles players in the world. During his visits Daniel will hold doubles workshops for all members that register in advance. A great opportunity to learn from the best. Limited enrollment.

Racquet Stringing

To play your best tennis you need a good stringing. Racquet stringing is available through the club with quick turnaround to keep you playing at a reasonable price. Racquet demonstrations will be held annually to help you identify the equipment that is best for you.

Pro-Shop
The best selection in town. We will carry numerous racquets, shirts, shorts, strings, jackets, tennis shoes and more to keep you at the top of your game.

Aerobic Tennis
This complete and fun workout combines lots of hitting, footwork and drills.

Baby-sitting
Looking for an hour to play tennis with yor friends but nowhere to leave the kids. Our scheduled programming allows you to schedule an hour to yourself, and maybe a little longer. Details to come. We have certified sitters.

Internet Cafe
After a little tennis enjoy a bit of quiet time in our internet cafe. Either log into our free service or use the computer available to members while having a coffee and a light snack. As our club expands our plans include full dining facilities.

Fitness Centre
Whether you are training for the next big tournament or just trying to stay active, The Daniel Nestor Tennis Centre will be well equipped to meet your needs.

The Fitness Centre is fully equipped with resistance training equpment and a wide variety of cardiovascularmachines. Free weights and functional training equipment help make every workout enjoyable and successful.

Join A Social Club
Join one of our many clubs we will be developing like the Bridge Club, the Travel Club or the Book Club. If you have an idea for a club let us know and our staff will help organize your first meeting.

High School Tennis

It is the intent of the Daniel Nestor Tennis Centre to increase tennis participation for local schools by establishing tennis clubs within high schools. Court time and teams will be organized. The DNTC is planning to organize a high school tennis league with other clubs in the area. This intiative will be spearheaded at the DNTC and open to all high schools in the area. Planning for 2012.
