Jeff Domm

Jeff Domm - General Manager

Jeff has a life-long passion for tennis. He played high school tennis and competed at a young age. His past life includes receiving a BFA in Design from Detroit Centre for Creative Studies and an MA in Film from Columbia (Chicago). He has run his own design and illustration firm for over 30 years and now brings that creative touch and business savvy to the DNTC. You might even find a few of his published illustrated books in local bookstores. He has a knack for wildlife illustration and you can see some of his work at www.tamarackdesignandillustration.com.

His interest in building this facility has always been to grow the game of tennis in Nova Scotia and to help junior players reach their goals. Jeff teaches TRY TENNIS for adults and takes on a few private lessons to help beginners gain an interest in the game. 

  


Gareth Dowdell

Gareth moved into coaching permanently in 2007 after a successful junior career which saw him represent New Zealand at the World Youth Cup. He accepted a full scholarship at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was ranked in the top 25 of both singles and doubles in NCAA Division 2. Gareth has experience at all levels of coaching in New Zealand, the United States, and Canada. It is his desire to continue to grow the game of tennis in Nova Scotia and produce greater numbers of high performance juniors who can compete at a national and international level.


 


Stefan Hall

Stefan Hall - Senior Tennis Professional - Head of Junior Programming

During his junior tennis career, Stefan Hall was ranked as high as #1 in his age category in Atlantic Canada and represented Prince Edward Island at Canada Games. After graduating from high school, he accepted a scholarship to play NCAA Division II tennis for Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. His goals involve growing depth, talent, and teamwork in the junior development and high performance programs at the DNTC.

 


Andrew Irving

Andrew Irving - Senior Tennis Professional

After a successful junior tennis career in New Zealand, Andrew played interclub tennis in Germany on the Senior A team and Junior team at Cannstatt Tennis Club. From there he went to work at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy in Texas. This experience allowed him to be part of a team of coaches running the junior tennis camps as well as training with the elite tennis players. He then accepted a scholarship to play at the University of Texas - Pan America. Andrew has been Assistant coach of the New Zealand Junior Touring Team and worked with Cliff Drysdale Tennis Management, among others.

“I am really excited about helping juniors achieve their goals as tennis players. I believe my experience as a coach on the international level will enable this to happen. I came here to Halifax because I see the potential to train some of the best players this area has to offer. The changes taking place at the DNTC prove that they are committed to this as well.”

 


Dave Green

Dave Green - Tennis Professional - Head of Community Development

Dave played Junior Tennis in Newfoundland and has a Junior Provincial title to his name. A multi-sport athlete, Dave has excelled in coaching and instructing a variety of sports including: Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Soccer, Snowboarding and Tennis. Dave has been creating grassroots programs through Jumpstart in HRM neighborhoods where Tennis is not easily accessible.

Dave also works as a Sports Massage Therapist. Some of his clients include the Montreal Canadiens, Canadian Canoe/Kayak team, and locally, our Mooseheads and Hurricanes. He also has experience as a marketer which included time with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dave hopes to put his vast range of Sports experience to help foster the growth of Tennis at the DNTC and make it accessible for all demographics.

Suzanne Estabrooks

Suzanne Estabrooks - Head of Office Administration

Suzanne has been with DNTC for three years. She comes to us with a varied background in university and retail administration. Suzanne has a B.A. from the University of King’s College and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Dalhousie University. She is a huge sports enthusiast, and enjoys following local community and university teams in hockey and basketball. She is an avid tennis fan of course, and is always looking for a good game of doubles. Favourite players include Victoria, Roger and our own Daniel, Milos, Vasek and Genie.

 

 


Brent Singer

Brent Singer - Membership Manager

Brent has been with DNTC for two years. He has a strong background in membership and facility management and a diploma in Business Administration - Management. He is a sports enthusiast and coaches sports teams at his former high school and is the president of his local volleyball club as well as a coach. His favourite tennis player is Novak Djokovic.
